After ending a decades-long wait for an Olympic medal in Tokyo, the Indian Hockey Team has achieved Olympic success yet again, clinching the Bronze medal with a fiery 2-1 win over Spain at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
India have done it again. Harmanpreet Singh struck twice as they came back from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 and win a second straight Olympic bronze medal.
Skipper Harmanpreet converted two penalty corners to put India ahead at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium on Thursday.
India pulled themselves back on the brink of half-time to make it 1-1. It was the Spaniards who took the lead when Marc Miralles converted a penalty stroke to put his team 1-0 ahead.
India looked off-colour before coming back to life with four-five minutes remaining in the second quarter. A penalty corner in the final minute of the first half was duly converted by Harmanpreet and he converted the next too to give his team the lead which they held on to it.
