England Outclass India in Nottingham, Take Firm Control of T20 Series

Nottingham: England produced a dominant all-round display to defeat India by 125 runs in the third T20 International at Trent Bridge, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match series after the opening match was washed out by rain.

Sam Curran and Phil Salt were England’s top scorers

Batting first, England posted an imposing 201/7, powered by Phil Salt’s 70 off 44 balls and an unbeaten late flourish from Sam Curran (41)*. India never recovered in the chase, collapsing for just 76 runs, their lowest T20I total against England and one of their heaviest defeats in the format.

England’s pace attack proved too strong, with Josh Tongue claiming 4 wickets and Jofra Archer taking 3 wickets to dismantle the Indian batting line-up. Archer was named Player of the Match for his fiery spell.

India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted the team had played “atrocious cricket” and urged his side to regroup ahead of the remaining matches. The fourth T20I will be played in Bristol, where India must win to keep the series alive.
